Lara Lynn Hendrix is a Texas girl, wife, mother of three, photographer, professional overthinker, and lifelong lover of inappropriate humor and perfectly timed movie quotes.
She's spent more than fifteen years capturing other people's stories through her camera, but never imagined she'd one day be writing her own.
In 2022, Lara was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer, an experience that turned her world upside down and gave her enough material to fill a book she never wanted to have a reason to write.
Through chemotherapy, surgeries, unexpected friendships, heartbreaking losses, and some truly questionable coping mechanisms, Lara discovered that even life's darkest chapters can contain moments of extraordinary kindness and ridiculous laughter.
Her debut memoir, Wildflowers from Weeds: The Heart. The Humor. The Truth., tells that story without pretending cancer was a blessing or that surviving somehow made her more deserving than those who didn't.
When she isn't writing, Lara can usually be found cheering entirely too loudly at her son's football games, keeping up with her daughters, quoting movies nobody asked her to quote, or navigating the delightful chaos of her Texas home, complete with a husband, three children, and a collection of animals that occasionally resembles a small petting zoo.
She believes that life doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful, laughter is sometimes the only reasonable response, and the most meaningful stories are often the ones we never intended to tell.
